Nigerians Sleep On The Streets Of Russia, Stranded During World Cup

A group of Nigerians who fell victim to human trafficking were rescued by an NGO who rescues victims of Human trafficking.


The victims, mostly men said an agency in Nigeria sold them world cup ID cards that allowed them to enter Russia without visa promising them jobs.

The victims camped outside the Nigerian embassy in Russia asking for help, but they were not given any audience soon, sometimes later, the Nigerian ambassador to Russia was seen addressing them.

While many blamed the traffickers who lured them to Russia with false promise, many others blamed the youths who embarked on the journey without making good verifications.
