Yesterday,the Nigerian Army declared victory over the Indigenious People of Biafra,IPOB in the South-east region of the country and fights between farmers and herdsmen have been prevented by the troops for two weeks now.
Giving an update on operation Python danceII (Egwu Eke II),the military said all activities of kidnapping and other criminal acts have been stopped with dozens arrested and handed over to the police for prosecution.Over the whereabout of the IPOB leader,Nnamdi Kanu who they claim is in hiding since the invasion at his country home in Abia,the army keep mute.A statement released by the Army's Deputy Director of Public Relations,Col. Sagir Musa reads; “Following the commencement of Exercise EGWU EKE II on Friday 15th September 2017 in 82 Division Area of Responsibility, simultaneous activities have started in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo and Cross River states without hitch.“The essence of the exercise is to enhance troops’ preparedness and proficiency in dealing with emerging security challenges peculiar to the South-Eastern Region, such as kidnappings, armed robbery, communal crisis, farmers-herdsmen clashes, cultism, violent agitations and insurgency, amongst others"
