Nollywood actress Funmi Awelewa has taken to social media to share a past experience of being scammed by an impostor pretending to be popular actor Gabriel Afolayan.


In a recent video, she reflected on how the incident happened exactly 10 years, 11 months, and 22 days ago. She recalled that in 2014, while she was still an upcoming actress, she admired Gabriel Afolayan so much that she was eager to meet him. Unfortunately, instead of going through the right channels, she fell victim to a scammer who tricked her into paying ₦11,000.


Funmi humorously pleaded with fans to tag Gabriel Afolayan in hopes of getting her money back, writing:
