Nollywood actress Omobolarinde Akinyanju, popularly known as Ashabi, has taken to social media to express deep appreciation for her senior colleague, Adeniyi Johnson.
In a heartfelt post shared on her Instagram page, Ashabi posted throwback photos of herself and the actor, noting that they both hail from the same hometown. She described him as one of her favorite actors, praising his consistent show of love, humility, and support throughout the years.
"My egbon from my hometown. One of my best actors who has shown love right from the beginning," she wrote.
Ashabi, who is the mother of two children for singer Portable, said Adeniyi has always been readily available to help her and never carries himself with celebrity pride. She commended him for being jovial, approachable, and for interpreting movie roles with great talent and passion.
“The celebrity who jokes with you like you’re on the same level. My actor who interprets roles without overacting. May God bless your craft more, Baami. You’re too good,” she added.
Ashabi also recalled their first on-screen collaboration in her 2020 debut movie, “ATO (Sperm),” where Adeniyi played her husband. After several years apart on set, they recently reunited in her upcoming movie “OMORONIKE” (2025)—and once again, he played her husband.
“We made magic again because Adeniyi Johnson is a versatile actor,” she proudly said.
Ashabi ended the post by announcing that “OMORONIKE” will premiere on YouTube on May 20th, urging fans to watch out for what she called a fantastic movie.
The touching tribute has earned praise from fans, many of whom applauded Ashabi’s humility and Adeniyi’s professionalism.
