Popular Nigerian content creator, Streamer Peller, has narrated how he and controversial singer Portable ended up blocking each other on social media over a disagreement about ritual-themed content.
During a recent live session with fans, Peller explained that one Sunday morning, he came across a disturbing video on Instagram showing Portable performing what he described as "ritualist activities." Peller said he dropped a comment warning the singer to stop sharing such posts or risk being blocked.
According to him, Portable reacted by blocking him on Instagram, and Peller responded by blocking Portable on TikTok.
In Peller’s words:
“Portable and I have blocked each other. He blocked me on Instagram, and I blocked him on TikTok. I woke up Monday morning, and the first thing I saw online was a ritualist video. I commented and said, ‘This thing is not good, if you continue, I’ll block you.’ He blocked me, and I blocked him too. I just don’t like what he’s posting. After going to church on Sunday, why should I be seeing rituals on Monday morning?”
Netizens React:
The story sparked reactions online as social media users shared mixed opinions:
@wealth_0817 wrote: “Na your fault? Na TikTok cause am sha.”
@itzskilachi commented: “You think Portable cares?”
@prince_jokotoye added: “When Peller visits Alfas and streams it, it’s okay. But Portable posting Ifa-related stuff is a problem? That’s why we are losing our culture.”
The debate continues online, with many questioning the double standards in how spiritual content is perceived on social media.
