"I Know You Don’t Like It" – Kamo State Reveals How Funke Akindele Fully Sponsored His Baby’s Lavish Naming Ceremony

Popular content creator and comic actor Akinyoola Ayoola, widely known as Kamo State, has revealed that Nollywood superstar Funke Akindele single-handedly sponsored the christening ceremony of his newborn daughter, Sonia Olufunke Ayoola.

The heartfelt revelation came just after the couple hosted a vibrant gathering at their home, where A-list actors, fellow content creators, and close friends joined to celebrate the joyous occasion. The event followed a private christening that took place in their living room.

In a touching Instagram post, Kamo State expressed deep gratitude to Funke Akindele, not only for showing up but for taking full financial responsibility for the ceremony.

"I didn’t pay a single naira for this party," he wrote, emotionally acknowledging that Funke Akindele covered every expense, which he described as running into millions of naira.

He shared that the actress, who is also a mother of two boys, never likes public praise and always urges people to direct their appreciation to God instead. However, Kamo said he couldn’t hold back his gratitude.

“Iyami @funkejenifaakindele, I know you don’t like to be praised, but I must say this – my God will keep blessing you. You’ll never know a better yesterday. You supported one boy from nowhere. I don’t joke with you – it’s a lifelong bond,” he wrote.

He also thanked his friends and guests who showed up to celebrate with him and his wife, Esther Mide, calling them blessings in his life.

Social Media Reactions

Many netizens and fans praised Funke Akindele online, commending her generosity, humility, and the love she continuously shows to those around her.

The baby’s name, Sonia Olufunke Ayoola, was reportedly chosen to honour Funke Akindele’s inspiring and life-changing role in Kamo’s life.
