Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodi has praised fellow actress Iyabo Ojo for doing the right thing by including her ex-husband, Mr. Ademidun Ojo, in their daughter Priscilla’s wedding ceremony. Ronke spoke during an interview on Oyinmomo TV, where she admired Iyabo for always being close to her children since they were young and called her a devoted mother.
She said she learned an important lesson from Iyabo, especially after seeing how Priscilla’s father was welcomed at the wedding. Ronke noted that Iyabo earned her respect for putting aside personal issues and doing what was best for their daughter.
In the same breath, she asked Nigerians not to judge gospel singer Tope Alabi, whose daughter’s father was absent from her wedding earlier this year. Ronke explained that the daughter is already an adult and may have made the decision herself not to include her father due to personal reasons. She added that children have the right to decide such things at that age.
Earlier, Iyabo Ojo’s ex-husband had made headlines for attending both the traditional and white wedding ceremonies of their daughter. This came after some people had wrongly assumed he was an absent father. His presence changed the public's view and earned Iyabo praise online.
Meanwhile, unlike Iyabo’s peaceful co-parenting approach, Tope Alabi’s daughter’s wedding stirred controversy when her father didn’t attend. She even made a public statement suggesting a strained relationship between them.
