Popular Nigerian comedian and actor, Ayo Makun, better known as AY, has come under fire on social media after his birthday message to Grace, the wife of his younger brother and fashion designer, Yomi Casual, stirred controversy.
On Sunday, May 19, 2025, AY celebrated Grace’s birthday by posting photos of her and her husband. In his message, he praised her as an incredible woman known for her loyalty, consistency, and dedication to family. He commended her for avoiding distractions and staying true to her values, describing her as admirable and inspiring.
AY also offered prayers for her, wishing her a day filled with love, happiness, and blessings. He cheered her on for more growth and unforgettable moments ahead.
However, the heartfelt tribute didn’t sit well with many fans who believed his words were a subtle dig at his ex-wife, Mabel Makun. Some social media users claimed the praises were clearly a comparison between Grace and Mabel, especially considering AY’s recent marital crisis.
