We only had one serious fight, and social media made it worse” – Afeez Owo Opens Up on Separation Rumors from Mide Martins

Nollywood actor Afeez Owo has opened up about the challenges in his marriage to fellow actress, Mide Martins, while addressing the separation rumors that trailed them in 2016.

In a recent interview with Behind The List, Afeez explained that the incident was the only major fight they have ever had as a couple. He admitted he did not manage the situation well and, at some point, feared their marriage might come to an end.

“There was a time rumours spread that my wife and I had separated. In truth, that was the first and only serious fight we’ve ever had in our marriage. Thankfully, we reconciled and came back together. I admit I didn’t handle it well. I scattered things, and at some point, I even thought, Is this how it’s going to end? Social media made it worse because it was something we should have resolved privately,” he said.

The actor recalled that, out of anger, he left home and stayed in a hotel for two days, while Mide went online to claim he had abandoned her and their children.

“But by God’s grace, we overcame it,” he added, expressing gratitude that they were able to reconcile and move past the difficult period.

 

Recall that in 2016, Mide publicly called out Afeez for moving out of their home and abandoning her and the children.

However, in an interview, Afeez refuted the claims, stating that Mide had taken wrong advice from friends who wanted to create problems in their marriage.
