Nigerian politician and businessman, Senator Ned Nwoko, has publicly denied claims that he recently took a new wife after a video of him with a young woman went viral online.
In a statement shared on his Instagram page, Nwoko explained that the lady in the video had only visited him as part of a delegation from the Peace Ambassadors Initiative, led by Ambassador Dr. Adejo Sule. He clarified that the encounter was purely official and had no personal or private connection.
The husband of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels expressed disappointment over how social media users twisted the visit to spread false information. He explained that it is normal for him to take photos with visitors or admirers, but it was “mischievous and malicious” for anyone to use such photos to create fake stories.
Nwoko strongly warned individuals, bloggers, and media outlets to stop spreading the false narrative or face legal consequences. He also reminded the public that the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act of 2015 would be enforced against anyone found guilty of defamation or misinformation.
His statement has since sparked mixed reactions online, with fans praising him for addressing the issue directly, while others urged social media users to verify information before spreading it.
