“Davido can run for governor and win; Burna Boy can’t” — Seyi Sodimu compares Burna Boy and Davido’s influence beyond music

Music executive Seyi Sodimu has shared his views on the influence of Nigerian music stars, saying there is a clear difference between Burna Boy and Davido when it comes to impact beyond the music stage.

Speaking on What I Know podcast, hosted by actress Shaffy Bello, Sodimu praised Burna Boy for his strong stage presence and live performances. According to him, Burna Boy has mastered live shows and is one of the best performers in the industry.

However, Sodimu noted that Davido’s influence goes beyond music. He said the singer has a strong connection with people and enjoys massive public support, especially outside entertainment.

In his words, Sodimu stated that while Burna Boy dominates the stage, Davido has wider appeal. He added that if Davido were to contest for a political position like Governor today, he believes Davido would win, unlike Burna Boy.
