Billionaire businessman Dr. Deji Adeleke, the father of Afrobeats star Davido, has reacted to the renewed paternity claims involving his son, which have again sparked conversations on social media.
The allegations were made by an Ibadan-based woman, Ayo Labinjo, who claimed she had a sexual relationship with Davido during one of his visits to the city several years ago. She alleged that the encounter led to a pregnancy and that she later gave birth to a baby girl named Anu. According to her, the singer has refused to accept responsibility for the child.
The issue resurfaced after Anu, through an Instagram page believed to be managed on her behalf, publicly asked Davido to undergo another DNA test to confirm her paternity.
Reacting to the request, Davido stated that five DNA tests have already been carried out and that all the results were negative. He firmly denied being the child’s father.
Speaking on the matter, Dr. Deji Adeleke supported his son’s position and described the reports spreading online as false and misleading. He accused investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo of reviving and pushing the claims on social media.
Dr. Adeleke stressed that science has already settled the issue, saying the DNA results clearly show that Anu is not a member of the Adeleke family. He added that due process was followed and insisted that the matter should be laid to rest once and for all.
