Portable’s first wife, Omobewaji, has reportedly welcomed a new baby just days after the controversial singer was remanded in prison. The news comes amid the musician’s ongoing legal troubles, with reports saying he is eager to regain his freedom so he can see his newborn child.
Portable was arraigned on Monday, January 12, 2026, before a Federal High Court in Ogun State. The presiding judge refused to grant him bail, citing the absence of the police officer he allegedly assaulted, who was expected to testify in court. Following the ruling, the singer was ordered to be remanded in custody, while the case was adjourned to January 19, 2026, for the hearing of his bail application.
While the singer remains in detention, sources revealed that Omobewaji delivered her baby. According to reports, the news of the birth has been passed on to Portable in prison. It was gathered that he received the information with excitement and expressed a strong desire to secure his release so he can meet his child for the first time. Portable was earlier arrested after an altercation involving one of his wives, Ashabi Simple, during which he allegedly assaulted a police officer.
