“I Am Grieving, I Am Hurting, But I Am Also Standing” – Faithia Williams Honors Late Mother Through Cinematic Debut Efunroye

Nollywood actress Faithia Williams has shared an emotional message just one week after losing her mother, revealing how she is balancing grief with purpose.

Taking to Instagram, the actress opened up about the pain of her mother’s passing, noting that she has not even laid her to rest yet. She described each day since the loss as heavy, filled with condolence calls and quiet moments when the reality sinks in.

“My mother is gone… and I haven’t even laid her to rest yet. Every day since her passing has felt heavy. The calls. The condolences. The quiet moments when it finally sinks in. Grief does not wait for you to be ready; it just sits on your chest,” she wrote.

Despite the pain, Faithia explained why she chose not to step away from public life. According to her, rising above the heartbreak is a decision she made for her mother, her legacy, and her story.

“I could have stayed away. I could have mourned in silence. But I chose to rise, for my mother, for my legacy, for this story,” she added.

The actress also spoke passionately about her new film project, Efunroye: The Unicorn, describing it as her first cinematic debut and a dream she carried for years.

“I am Faithia Williams Balogun, and this project is a purpose wrapped in frames and films. EFUNROYE: THE UNICORN is my first cinematic debut. A dream I carried for years. A story I fought to tell. A legacy I am determined to honour,” she wrote.

Faithia emphasized that when people see her promoting the film, they should understand that it is not just publicity but resilience.

“When you see me promoting this film, understand, it is not noise. It is resilience. It is a daughter pushing through heartbreak to fulfil a promise to herself… and to her mother.”

Through her heartfelt reflections, the actress offered a touching reminder that grief and strength can exist together, as she continues to stand firm despite her profound loss.
