Adewale Adeleke, the elder brother of Afrobeats star Davido, has expressed pride in the singer despite his loss at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Davido was nominated for the Best African Music Performance category alongside Burna Boy and Ayra Starr but lost the award to South African singer Tyla. The ceremony was held on Sunday, February 1.
Following the outcome, Adewale took to his Instagram page to show support for his brother. He shared a photo of himself and Davido, describing the singer as a “living legend” and expressing how proud he is to be his brother.
“Living legend. Proud to call you my brother,” Adewale wrote.
His message has been widely praised by fans, who also celebrated Davido’s impact on the music industry, noting that awards do not define his influence or legacy.
