Veteran Nollywood actor Saheed Balogun has shared how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, came to his aid after he was involved in a serious accident.
Balogun made the revelation during an interview on Oyinmomo TV. He explained that the crash left him in critical condition, and the President and his wife quickly stepped in to help.
According to the actor, the couple insisted that he should be flown abroad for proper medical treatment. However, he later received adequate care in Nigeria and recovered. Despite this, he said he was deeply moved by their concern and willingness to support him.
Balogun said he was surprised by the First Lady’s gesture and asked her why she went to such lengths for him. In response, she reportedly told him that he is “a star given by God” and that his light must not go out.
Quoting her words, he said, “She said, ‘You are a star of God, and they must not let your light dim.’ From her, I learnt that if you take care of someone else’s child, God will take care of yours.”
The actor added that the experience changed his perspective on kindness and compassion. He said it taught him the importance of caring for others and showing love whenever possible.
