Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has responded to critics who questioned why she continues to promote her blockbuster movie despite reports that it has earned over ₦2.6 billion.
The actress revealed that someone sent her a message asking why she was still promoting the film after such massive commercial success. According to her, the person suggested she should relax and take a break since the movie had already made huge money.
Quoting the message, Akindele said, “Someone sent me a message saying, ‘Behind the Scenes has made over 2.6 billion, why are you still promoting it? Shouldn’t you relax now?’”
However, the award-winning filmmaker made it clear that money is not her main motivation. She explained that consistency is the real key to long-term success.
“I told the person that it’s not about the money. The key is consistency. If you want to keep achieving success and breaking records, you must remain consistent and continuously promote your work. It’s never enough to stop,” she said.
Akindele’s response reflects the strategy that has shaped her career over the years — hard work, steady promotion, and constant growth even after reaching major milestones.
