Abdussamad Dasuki Resigns From Peoples Democratic Party, joins ADC

The lawmaker representing Tambuwal/Kebbe Federal Constituency in Sokoto State, Abdussamad Dasuki, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Dasuki announced his decision in a resignation letter dated March 15, 2026, which he addressed to the PDP chairman of Dogon Daji/Salah Ward in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

In the letter, the lawmaker explained that his resignation was mainly due to the ongoing leadership crisis within the party. According to him, the internal conflicts have weakened the party and affected its ability to function effectively as a strong opposition in Nigeria’s political system.

Dasuki also stated that the continuous challenges within the party have made it difficult for the PDP to provide the credible and organized opposition needed to strengthen the country’s democracy.

He added that his decision to leave the party came after wide consultations with political allies, constituents, and other stakeholders, who also share concerns about the current situation within the party and the state of the nation.

The resignation marks another development in the ongoing internal struggles within the PDP, which have continued to affect the party’s stability and political influence.
