The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of 632,788 results for candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
The update was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday and signed by the board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin.
According to JAMB, candidates can check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration. The board explained that, for now, candidates can only view their results, as the option to print them is not yet available.
The examination body also issued a strong warning against any attempt to manipulate or alter result messages received through its official channels. It stressed that such actions are considered criminal offences.
In its statement, JAMB said:
“Candidates are strongly cautioned against manipulating the SMS received from the official platform (55019/66019) to fabricate or alter scores… Such actions constitute a serious criminal offence.”
The board further revealed that enforcement actions are already underway, noting that some suspects have been arrested.
“Currently, two candidates and one parent are in custody for engaging in result falsification using AI and other electronic means. Any candidate found culpable will face the full consequences of the law,” the statement added.
The announcement has drawn attention nationwide, as candidates continue to check their results while authorities intensify efforts to curb examination malpractice.
