Bruno Fernandes Wins Premier League Player of the Season Award

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League Player of the Season after an outstanding campaign for the club.

The Portugal international beat several top players to win the award, including David Raya, Gabriel Magalhães, Declan Rice, Erling Haaland, Antoine Semenyo, Igor Thiago, and Morgan Gibbs-White, who were all shortlisted for the prize.

Fernandes had earlier been named the Football Writers’ Association Men’s Player of the Year this month, adding another major individual award to his successful season.

The midfielder matched the Premier League record for assists in a single season after setting up his 20th assist during Manchester United’s match against Nottingham Forest last weekend.

He also scored eight goals in 37 league appearances, helping Manchester United F.C. finish third in the league and qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Statistics from the season also showed Fernandes created 132 chances, more than any other player in the Premier League. His total was 43 more than the second-highest creator, Dominik Szoboszlai of Liverpool F.C..

Fernandes also became the first Manchester United player to win the award since Nemanja Vidić claimed it in 2011.

The Premier League Player of the Season winner is decided through a combination of public votes and the opinions of football experts.
