“Don’t Sew Clothes on Credit” — Woli Arole Sends Message to Actresses over AMVCA

Nigerian comedian, actor, and skitmaker Woli Arole has stirred reactions online after sharing a humorous but cautionary message to actresses ahead of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

As excitement builds around the prestigious award ceremony, the actor jokingly spoke about the glamorous fashion often displayed on the event’s red carpet. According to him, Nigerians should expect to see dramatic and oversized outfits that look “like parachutes.”

While making jokes about the occasion, Woli Arole also advised actresses not to put themselves under financial pressure just to impress at the awards show. He warned them against sewing expensive outfits on credit and encouraged them to live within their means and maintain a budget they can comfortably afford.

The comedian also had words of encouragement for entertainers who may not receive invitations to the event. According to him, not being invited does not mean a person has failed or is not successful in the entertainment industry.

He further noted that the pressure surrounding celebrity events can influence people to do unnecessary things just to fit in. The actor humorously reminded those renting outfits for the event to return the clothes after use and also make sure makeup artists are properly paid.

In his words, he said people should avoid unnecessary competition and focus on living according to their financial capacity despite the excitement and social media attention surrounding the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
