Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara Declines Media Questions After APC Screening in Abuja

The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, declined to speak with journalists after appearing before the All Progressives Congress governorship screening committee in Abuja.

The governor attended the screening exercise on Sunday at the Plateau State Governors’ Lodge as part of the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections. The exercise was organised for sitting governors seeking re-election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

After the screening, journalists attempted to ask the governor questions about the process and the political situation in Rivers State. However, Siminalayi Fubara refused to make comments, responding briefly with the words, “No comment.”

The screening committee was chaired by Nentawe Yilwatda, who currently serves as the National Chairman of the ruling party.

Fubara’s appearance before the committee comes amid ongoing political developments and growing discussions surrounding the future political landscape in Rivers State ahead of the next election cycle.

Political observers continue to monitor events in the state as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 elections.
