Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has revealed the reason behind her decision to leave Nigeria and step away from the movie industry, saying it was a sacrifice she made for the sake of her children.
Speaking during an interview with Morayo Afolabi Brown, the actress reflected on motherhood, legacy, family, and her long-awaited return to the screen. Bukky disclosed that her children were the primary reason she relocated abroad, adding that she would make the same decision again if faced with the choice.
The actress also apologized to her fans and supporters for leaving the industry without informing them, admitting that her sudden departure left many heartbroken. According to her, motherhood became her top priority, and she chose to focus on raising her children.
Bukky also discussed her latest cinema project, Omatara Johnson, revealing that the film was inspired by persistent requests from her fans, who had long awaited her return to Nollywood.
Explaining why she kept the project private, the veteran actress said she has learned that keeping plans close to her heart allows them to unfold more successfully. She credited her son and her production team for developing the marketing strategy that helped bring the movie to audiences.
