A Nigerian woman residing in Canada has sparked widespread reactions on social media after reaffirming that she will only support her husband's relocation to Canada if he agrees to a strict vow of lifelong fidelity.
Ezinne Maryjane Nwanorue, who had earlier revealed on Facebook that her husband must accept certain conditions before joining her abroad, has now intensified her position by stating that he should take a spiritual oath. According to her posts, she believes any violation of the vow—particularly engaging in sexual relations with anyone other than his wife—would result in divine punishment.
In a series of social media statements, Ezinne claimed that her stance is based on her religious beliefs, describing the proposed vow as an expression of what she believes is God's will rather than a personal decision. She also publicly prayed that her husband would face severe consequences if he were to break the vow after relocating to Canada.
