Celebrity fashion designer Toyin Lawani has sparked reactions online after drawing attention to what she described as a growing trend among some women in Lagos who are opting for similar facial enhancements.
In a video shared on social media, the fashion entrepreneur observed that an increasing number of women appear to be developing noticeably similar facial features, particularly sharper or elongated jaws and fuller, plumper lips.
According to Toyin, the trend has become so noticeable that she feels many of the women she referred to as “Lagos baddies” are beginning to look almost identical.
“There is something going on in Lagos. Everybody is starting to look alike. I see you today, next day, long jaw,” she said.
She also questioned the source of the increasingly popular facial features, seemingly suggesting that cosmetic procedures and beauty enhancements may be responsible for the similarities she has observed among some women.
“All the Lagos baddies are just looking alike. Long jaw and plump lips,” Toyin added.
Her comments have since generated conversations online, with social media users sharing different opinions about the increasing popularity of cosmetic enhancements and the pressure to conform to particular beauty standards.
While some may see such procedures as a form of personal expression and confidence, others have raised concerns about how beauty trends can encourage people to pursue similar appearances rather than embracing their individual features.
