Weeks after the burial rites of her late father, veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo “Ogogo” Hassan, his daughter, Kira, has opened up about the emotional pain she continues to endure following his death.
Kira took to Instagram on Thursday, September 3, 2026, where she shared a throwback video capturing a cherished moment she had with her father before his passing.
In the video, Kira could be seen having a playful moment with Ogogo at a party. She jokingly asked her father for a kiss on the cheek and insisted that he fulfil her request, capturing a warm and affectionate father-daughter moment.
However, revisiting the memory appeared to bring back painful emotions for Kira, who used the post to speak candidly about the reality of losing her father.
Ogogo reportedly passed away after a brief battle with cancer. His eight-day Fidau prayer was held on Monday, August 31, 2026, in Ilaro, Ogun State, where family members, friends, colleagues and well-wishers gathered to pray for him and honour his memory.
In her emotional tribute, Kira revealed that her grief has sometimes been accompanied by anger. She admitted that there are moments when she feels upset with her late father for leaving her behind, despite the deep love she continues to have for him.
She also expressed how much she misses his physical affection, particularly his hugs, describing the experience of losing him as the deepest heartbreak she has ever felt.
One of the biggest sources of pain for Kira is the fact that she wanted more time with her father. She revealed that she had hoped Ogogo would live long enough to meet her second child, who is yet to be born.
Expressing the depth of her emotions, she wrote:
“My daddy. The best, I can’t even get a hug anymore. Sometimes I hate you for leaving me…. I don’t know, jare. This is what heartbreak means, mehn. I love you, daddy, but I just wanted more time, more time, more timeeee to meet my second baby.”
She ended the emotional message by thanking her father and referring to him affectionately as “TAIYE.”
Kira’s heartfelt tribute has since touched many of her followers, with several people sympathising with her and offering words of encouragement as she continues to cope with the loss of her father.
Her post offers another emotional glimpse into the personal impact of Ogogo’s death on his family, particularly as his loved ones continue to adjust to life without the veteran actor.
