The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and his first wife, Olori Mariam, have officially unveiled their twin sons to the public, months after welcoming the babies.
The royal couple had announced in March that they had welcomed twin boys, with the monarch expressing gratitude to God and confirming that both Olori Mariam and the babies were in good health.
Almost six months after their birth, the couple held a royal naming ceremony and homecoming for the princes at the Ooni’s palace in Ile-Ife on Friday, September 10.
Videos from the ceremony showed the Ooni proudly presenting his twin sons before chiefs, dignitaries, palace officials and other guests who had gathered to celebrate the royal family.
Dressed in a traditional white outfit adorned with coral beads, the monarch appeared cheerful as he carried the princes, who were also dressed in matching white attire.
Another heartwarming moment captured the Ooni handing the twin boys over to their mother, Olori Mariam, during the royal celebration.
The ceremony marked the first major public unveiling of the princes and gave guests and well-wishers an opportunity to celebrate the newest additions to the royal family.
