Popular skitmaker and content creator Samuel Perry, better known as Brodashaggi, has opened up about the terrifying experience that left him hospitalised for months after he was struck by a stray bullet.
The comedian had earlier teased a tell-all about the incident after keeping a relatively low profile following the shooting, promising to share his side of the story.
True to his word, Brodashaggi released the documentary on Wednesday, October 21, giving fans a detailed insight into the frightening incident, his emotional struggles and his journey back to recovery.
According to the skitmaker, he had finished filming and was on his way home when he became stuck in traffic. While waiting in the holdup, he suddenly heard a loud bang, after which everything appeared to go silent.
Brodashaggi said he could see people around him talking but could not hear what they were saying. When he touched his hip, he discovered that he was bleeding, and that was when he realised he had been hit by a stray bullet.
The incident left him hospitalised for several months and forced him to temporarily step away from his career. During that period, he said he struggled emotionally and felt helpless because he could not do the things he normally enjoyed.
He revealed that seeing his colleagues release and perform in skits while he remained in the hospital often made him emotional. At times, he would burst into tears because he was uncertain whether he would ever be able to return to work.
Brodashaggi also admitted that one of his biggest fears was being forgotten by his fans and colleagues while he was away.
Despite the difficult experience, the content creator has now returned with renewed gratitude and plans to work on new projects.
His documentary offers an emotional look into the physical and psychological impact of the shooting and how the experience affected his career, confidence and outlook on life.
