According to recent reports, more than 10,000 people living in Lagos state were tested positive to HIV of the over 600,000 that attended the HIV Counseling and Testing (HCT) awareness programme that from January to June, 2016.

The chief executive officer, Oluseyi Temowo of Lagos State AIDS Control Agency made this known at an event yesterday, Wednesday, 23rd of November in Lagos.
He reveals the News Agency of Nigeria had in 1988 declared every December 1 as the World AIDS Day.
This is said to honour AIDS victims and focus on issues surrounding HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome)
