Tragedy Strikes At Owode, 16 People Die As Danfo Bus Falls Inside A River On Independence Day [Photo]

A fully loaded commercial bus plunged into Iju River along Owode-Idiroko Road in Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State yesterday, 1st of October 2016.

The accident, which involved a white 18-seater Danfo Bus with registration number Epe 197 XG was said to have taken off from Sango and was heading towards Atan-Idiroko when the driver lost control and the bus plunged into the river
Sixteen of the occupants of the bus died instantly while four others suffered injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
Bodies of the deceased have been deposited in the morgue.
