The Police Command in Osun State have arrested a man who raped an 85-year-old woman to coma in Ilesa. The culprit, 29 year old Kehinde Ariyo, committed the act last Friday.
Police commissioner Mr. Fimihan Adeoye, who paraded the culprit disclosed that the incident happened at Ogudu area of Ilesha, where the culprit raped the old woman after gaining access to her residence around 11pm. He added that the woman sustained various injuries on her body, including her private part, and passed out in the process before she was resuscitated at an hospital. The culprit is said to be living in the same area the victim stays, and had gone on errands for the old woman in the past.
“The woman passed out during the rape, but came back to life after some hours, the suspect was arrested the next day.” Adeoye said.
Ariyo admitted being guilty of the act, claiming to have been drunk after attending a party and needed a place to pass the night.
He said he pleaded with the woman to allow him to sleep in her place which she agreed and he slept in the passage but he later went to approach the woman in the room where she was sleeping and told her that he needed to tell her something asking her to open the door and she did. He added that he cannot remember other things all he just knew that it was not more than two rounds and he blamed it on Satan.
