NCDC Currently Battling With Bed Spaces To Treat COVID-19 Patients In Lagos


The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has disclosed that it is as of now struggling to treat COVID-19 patients in Lagos State as there are no enough bed spaces.

This is on the grounds that Lagos state at present has the most number of people infected by a coronavirus in Nigeria.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lagos alone is 947 and 187 of these patients have been discharged after recovering from the disease.

On Thursday, Chikwe Ihekweazu, director-general of NCDC, speaking the briefing of the presidential task force on COVID-19  said endeavors are being made to change strategy in order not to permit the lacking bed spaces influence the fight against coronavirus.

“Lagos is the only place where we are struggling with bed spaces for now. We will always tell Nigerians the truth. We are struggling with bed spaces in Lagos for now,” he said.

As of Wednesday, Nigeria had recorded 1,728 cases of coronavirus.
