COVID-19: President Buhari To Hold Private Eid Prayers With Family.

As Muslims everywhere throughout the world mark the Eid Fitri festivity this weekend, President Buhari has said he will be conducting his Eid prayers with his family at home and not at any of the prayer grounds where he has throughout the years joined different Muslims for the Eid congregational prayers.

An announcement discharged by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, says the decision of the President is in accordance with the lockdown measures in the Federal Capital Territory, that was set up “to save lives and protect people from all dangers.”

He included that the President is additionally complying with the mandate of the Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III suspending Eid congregational prayers over the nation just as the protocol against mass social gathering gave by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
