Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi is celebrating the healthcare professionals on the frontline of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Nigeria and across the globe instead of his birthday today 1st of May.
The actor who took to his Instagram page to celebrate the healthcare workers, stated that his late mother once told him that there is no dignity looking away when someone is in need while you can help.
Sharing photos and videos of different healthcare professionals, he wrote: "Dear Health Care Worker,
My heart goes to all HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS and FIRST RESPONDERS on the frontline of this COVID-19 Pandemic in Nigeria and across the globe.
My Late mother once told me that there is no dignity looking away when someone is in need while you can help nor there is any honour feeling unconcerned when others like you are supporting the weak or spinless. That has been one of my guiding principles till date.. Recently I applied via social media to Lagos Government of Nigeria and National Centre for Disease Control @ncdcgov as a VOLUNTEER to support those on frontline in any capacity they deem fit but I am yet to get a response.
However, today May 1st is my birthday and I decided NOT TO CELEBRATE myself throughout the day RATHER celebrate YOU all all over the world for your sacrifices, dedication, loss, bravery and extreme humanity during this challenging period. I have also craved the indulgence of my fans, followers, friends, filming family and family to celebrate you and not me if any wish to do so online.
I hope this little gift I have offered will remind you that you have a place in our hearts, future and you are genuinely valued. I am praying for you from the depth of my heart. This kindness and huge sacrifices will linger forever in my heart and numerous others. We shall overcome.
If possible, I want to stand in front of each and everyone of you with full compliment and salutation given to a decorated national heroes to say THANK YOU. You are all super heroes and I know your worth. Ese.
Kind regards and love for all.
