Meet 5 Of The Children Of The Late MKO Abiola And What They Presently Do.

The reason behind the Nigeria’s Democracy Day,  June 12, is the late Nigerian businessman, Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola frequently abbreviated as MKO Abiola.


MKO Abiola who was a businessman, was also a politician, publisher and he was the Aare Ona Kankafo XIV of Yorubaland.

But we mostly know him as a politician. However, that is on the grounds that he was the winner of the first Democratic Election in the history of Nigeria but it was later on annulled by the then Head of State.


He contested the rule made by the Head Of State, he announced himself president and he was confined and kicked the bucket in custody.

1. Kola Abiola


Kola is the oldest of all the children and was conceived by Simbiat Atinuke Abiola. He is normally in the news as he is the most outspoken of all the children.

2. Hafisat Abiola


Hafisat Abiola is a Nigerian human rights activist, democracy and civil right activist. She studied at Haravard University.  She is 45 years old and got married in 2005 to Nicholas Costello. She also is the founder of the Kudirat Initiative for Democracy, a groups with the aim of strengthening the civil society and promote democracy in Nigeria. 

3. Dupsy Abiola


Dupsy is a Nigerian-Bristish barrister and the Global Innovation Officer of the International Airlines Group born in North London. She studied at the University of Oxford. Dupsy who is 38 years old, is the founder and CEO of Intern Avenue, she is likewise a businesswoman and entrepreneur.

4. Abdul Mumuni Abiola


Abdul Abiola is the son of Kudirat Abiola and likewise a sibling to Hafisat Abiola, the number 2 on the list. He had in the past voiced out that his older siblings wanted to kill him over their dad’s properties.

5 . Lola Abiola-Edewor


Lola Abiola is a significant commonly recognized name in the Nigerian government in light of the fact that as at last year she was appointed by the Senate as the Executive Director of Corporate Services, NDIC. She is the eldest daughter.
