Royalty laced with wealth is sweet, particularly when it's blessed with opulence and splendour. It soothes soul and body. Yet for Zaynab Otiti Obanor, HIM's ex-wife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, she is also an epitome of royalty streaming through her veins.

She commanded respect on all strata of life during her days as the heartthrob of stylish Ife monarch. Her gait, composure, charming smile and endearing persona earned her acceptance from the public. Paparazzi flashed only to catch a glimpse of her ravishing beauty at some public event.

When she announced her breakup with Ife's Ooni, mixed reactions were generated as different tongues were wagging at her over such a decision. Some wondered why she had decided to leave the Oduduwa house with such glitz and glamour.

Given all the critiques on the eve of her divorce with Ooni Enitan Ogunwusi, Olori Wuraola was able to grow beyond the public embarrassment and mockery for leaving the second-in-command to the gods. Sometimes, divorcing a King, particularly that of higher status in the Yorubaland, is attributed somewhat to the monarch being insulted by the public.

Three years after the divorce Queen Zaynab took part in several humanitarian and philanthropic works. She is U.N. Population Fund (UNFPA) ambassador.

As part of our support to the community during this COVID-19 Pandemic, the Queen Zaynab foundation (QZF)is donating 10,000 naira to 10,000 less privilege Nigerian families within the rural areas. We hope by providing the basic needs available to these individuals the ability to stay home and not be forced to go on the streets will be lessened. Proper hygiene, self preservation and isolation is important at this time to contain the spread of COVID-19. We are hopeful and prayerful that this pandemic will be over soon wirhout more casualties. This issue has shown that Nigerians have a sense of community as we have seen how able and good people have all come out over these last few weeks to render support to the affected and less fortunate. No individual can do it all but we can all collectively help those who will struggle to survive during this period. As we all look forward to better days ahead.
