RIP! Reggae Legend, Majek Fashek Is Dead As His Manager Confirmed It.


Nigerian legendary singer and guitarist, Majekodunmi Fasheke popularly known as Majek Fashek is dead. 

Despite the fact that the cause of the rain maker crooner's demise is as yet clear, but reports has it that he died in a hospital in New York in the late hours of Monday June 1. 

His death was confirmed by Cynthia Morgan's former manager, Joy Tongo who took to her page to write:

"Legendary musician, Mr. Majek Fashek has passed on today in New York City. Majek Fashek was a talented man from my home town Benin City, Edo State. RIP"


Majek Fashek's manager also confirmed the news, he said:

“Today been having pressure calls, well it is true that the African No 1 Legendary ICON has gone to be with the LORD his Maker,” he said.

“Let celebrate him, his achievements, and his family, whatever decisions made by his immediate family will be notified.”



Majekodunmi Fasheke popularly known as Majek fashek was born in Benin-City, Edo state

Until his demise, he was one of Nigeria’s surviving Reggae music legend, Majek pulled international attention in 1987, with his self-wrote tune, ‘Send down the Rain.’

The guitarist likewise played a supporting role in the 2000 Nollywood movie ‘Mark of the Beast’.
