It's not a news that the veteran actor of Yoruba, Alhaji Yekinni Oyedele, popularly known as Baba Legba, is dead, and even the actor born in Egba was buried according to Muslim rites.
Eight day prayer took place in his home town, in honor of the late thespian. Both the presidents of ANTP and TAMPAN and their representatives participated in the event.
The TAMPAN members were led by her national president, Otunba Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin, to the prayer place, while her president, Chief Adewale Adeoye, otherwise known as Adewale Elesoo, led the ANTP members.
Abeokuta 's chief imam led the eight day prayer along with other top Islamic clerics. Special prayers to rest the departed actor's soul were offered.
Elesoo, in his words, described late Baba Legba as a very good fellow, who loves everyone in his life and time. He said he met Baba Legba late when the two were young actors at Baba Sala's caucus. He also described him as a good comedian who made people always laugh.
Mr. Latin, in his own remark, said late Baba Legba was among the old actors to whom he looked up as a young man, he also described him as a kind-hearted, decent man.
Recall that nine days ago Baba Legba passed on after a brief illness.
