Alhaji Yekini Omobolanle the Nollywood legend popularly known as Babalegba has died. Babalegba joins other Yoruba film industry legends who have passed away this year.



The late Baba Sala 's son, Adejumo Boisala Emmanuel, shared the news of the veteran's death on Facebook.

Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola also confirmed the death of Babalegba, she took to her Instagram page to mourn him.

"...and we lost another veteran, though bags legba was old but we never want to see our loved ones die, I spoke with baba just last week but i was too busy with my Restuarant to check on him like I always do cos he told me he was under the weather, quite unfortunate I couldn't bade him goodbye b4 he gave up the ghost, quite unfortunate we lost him.... I feel kinda guilty I didn't check up on him when he called... 😭😭its well 😒😒 RIP Baba, sun re o baba.

Late Babalegba was buried yesterday, Monday, September 7, by 4pm according to Islamic rites in his countr home in Abeokuta.

The practitioners association's unions and elders, TAMPAN and ANTP, attended.

Owolabi J.B., TAMPAN's Governor in Ogun State, who ably represented National President Mr. Bolaji Amusan popularly known as Mr. Latin, described the death of Alhaji Yekeen Kashimawo Oyedele as a collisional loss to the entire home entertainment industry and the diaspora with its major impact in ensuring peace within the association.
