A very unfortunate incident that occurred on Ibrahim Taiwo Lane, Ilorin, Kwara State, over the weekend, resulted in the premature deaths of a wedding guest and a wedding groom.
The Groom who got married on Saturday, was transporting the guest who came from Lagos to a motor park at Wahab Folawiyo Road to board a vehicle to Lagos when the tragedy occurred.
According to sources, the guest and the groom were on a motorcycle around 1:00 p.m. on Sunday when they were involved in a ghastly accident that instantly took the guest 's life and crushed the groom 's legs.
The horrific incident happened when the SUV struck them from behind on the route of the truck that crushed the passenger's skull, killing him instantly, while the rider's two legs, the groom, were crushed.
An eyewitness said, “The young man came from Lagos to attend a wedding in Ilorin. The groom, who is a commercial motorcyclist, decided to take him to the park before and the accident occurred on the way.
When contacted by PUNCH, Ajayi Okasanmi, the spokesman for the state police command, confirmed the incident.
