Queen Anuoluwapo, one of the young queens of the Oyo palace was said to have left the palace, relieving herself of her queen duties. Her Instagram posts have confirmed this news. The young queen has taken to Instagram to show off her newfound freedom; ‘slaying’ her pictures, wearing very different clothes from her former traditional clothes, using creative captions like, ‘You have to fight through some bad days to earn the best days of your life’.
She was reported to have left after her fellow queen, Queen Damilola, was allegedly maltreated by authorities in the palace. The two queens were said to have fled together. Queen Damilola has now returned and is praising the king, just like before.
Queen Anu, on the other hand, seems to be thriving in her new space, being ‘proud of the woman she is becoming’ and ‘doing what works for her and leaving the rest to God’
There have been some contrary views on Queen Anu’s decision. A source felt her decision was hasty, and not well thought out.
