Olofin Returns To Ado-Odo 7 Years After He Was Beaten, Stripped Naked And Chased Away.

Seven years after his exile, Oba Lateef Adeniran, the Olofin of Ado-Odo, eventually returned to his kingdom.

As the traditional ruler rode into Ado-Odo in a convoy led by security agents, there was jubilation among the inhabitants of the ancient town.

The Daily Post notes that some of his fellow monarchs accompanied the monarch back home as well.

Oba Adeniran was targeted by some angry youths in his domain in April 2013.

The royal father was in his SUV when the youths flagged him down.

The boys, who were said to have previously invaded his palace to vandalize cars and torch his building, beat and stripped him naked.

A judgment of the Supreme Court of 12 January 2009 validating the appointment of Adeniran as Oba of Ado-Odo, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, was held in protest against the youth of that time.

Since then, Oba has resided in Abeokuta, the capital of the state of Ogun, as well as dealing with stool problems.

But on Sunday, in the midst of pomp and curiosity, Olofin returned to Ado-Odo as his subjects trooped out to welcome him.
