Ebun Oloyede, also known as Olaiya Igwe, has described a surgical procedure he underwent at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan. In an exclusive interview with BBC News Yoruba, the nollywood actor recalled his experience in the theatre room.
It will be noted that Olaiya Igwe was supposed to have died in UCH two months ago before his family disproved the claim.
According to the actor, he felt his bodily system was not functioning properly, prompting him to seek medical help at the UCH.
He lamented the fact that his death was announced in haste, without waiting for a doctor's report. He advised people to double-check any information they want to share with the public.
“After the medical test, the doctor said I will undergo kidney surgery so that they can remove what is inside my stomach. Initially, I was scared but I summoned the courage. I met a lot expert doctors at the theatre room, they assured me I would be alright. They encouraged me not to be panic”.
When the doctor showed him what was extracted from his stomach following the surgery, he claimed he was shocked.
“The doctor that did the surgery jokingly asked if they have showed me Olumo rock they removed from my stomach. Throughout the operation, I didn’t know where I was but I commend all the medical personnel that attended to me at the UCH”.
He thanked God for saving his life and thanked his admirers at home and abroad for their prayers and financial assistance.
