A group of young people gathered at the Lekki tollgate to pay their respects to the victims of the Lekki massacre on October 20, 2020, as Nigerian youths mourned the protestors murdered in the Lekki massacre.
The one-year anniversary of the tragic incident at the site is today.
Officers of the Nigerian Army who had been assigned to the scene allegedly fired live bullets at the demonstrators on that day.
Despite the Army's denials, forensic reports by a number of independent organizations revealed that live ammunition was used against nonviolent protesters, and some protesters paid the price with their lives.
