Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ooni of Ife, the supreme Yoruba ruler, celebrated his 47th birthday yesterday.
On October 17, 1974, the revered Yoruba king, who is the 51st Ooni of Ife, was born.
Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi ascended to the throne in 2015, succeeding the 50th Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade.
Oba Enitan is married to Olori Naomi Silekunola, with whom he has a son.
On the occasion of the Yoruba monarch's birthday, several renowned Nigerians have used various channels to express their support for him.
The Ooni of Ife took to his Instagram page to celebrate his birthday. He wrote;
"Fún ògbólógbòó ọdún àti ìfojúsùn ọjọ́ iwájú, mo ní ìrètí àti ìdánilójú fún orílè̩ èdè tí ó kún fún àṣeyọrí àti akitiyan láti ò̩dọ gbogbo olùgbé inú rẹ̀. Orílẹ̀ èdè tí oun gbòòrò nípa ìfìmọ̀ṣọ̀kan àti aláfíà
As a reflection of years past and beholding visions of the journey ahead, I’m convinced of a nation full of prosperity and energy from its teeming population. A great nation for all to thrive in unity and peace."
