"Till I Grow Old, This is The Way I Will Talk" Murphy Afolabi React As Critics Mocks Him Over His Yoruba Accent.

Yoruba Murphy Afolabi, a Nollywood actor, has responded to those ridiculing him for his deep-rooted Yoruba accent. The unfazed Osogbo descendant claims he will continue to speak in this manner till he dies.

When asked about his Osogbo accent and how it had been used to humiliate him, the actor revealed this in an interview with BBC news Yoruba.

According to Murphy, he was born in Osogbo, and the way indigenes use their's' differs from how Lagosians use it, as he confesses that if he tries to speak in any other accent than Osogbo, no one will understand him.

However, he stated that anyone who is uncomfortable speaking with him because of his accent should avoid doing so because this is how he would continue to speak until he is elderly.

He said:

“There is nothing like someone is making fun of me. Your place of birth is your state. You can’t give birth to someone in Osun state and then you go to Lagos and say you want to have hairs like your father. I was given birth to in Osogbo and everyone knows that in my village, the way we pronounce our ‘S’ is different from the others. if you want to force yourself to speak like a Lagosian, people would hardly hear you. This is the way I’ll talk till I grow old. Whoever doesn’t like it should not play with me.”
