This Tribalism Is Number One Problem In Our Movies Industry: Actress Ronke Oshodi Reveals

Apart from the various issues confronting the film business, Ronke Oke Oshodi, a Nollywood actress, has highlighted that tribalism and not belonging to a certain umbrella or organization is a major issue.

The film director also chastised certain actors for their behavior, which she believes is detrimental to the profession.

"Tribalism, sure, but also not being under one canopy, is the number one difficulty we have." Americans love their nation, so they love themselves, I tell people. They, too, have flaws, but they aren't as obvious as they are in Nigeria.

"Our number one concern is tribalism." A Yoruba guy would not call an Igbo man to perform in a film, and the Igbo people would not call a Yoruba man to act in a film."

She claimed that she is an actress who enjoys praising others' work, particularly future actresses, but added that they, too, do not encourage their fellow women due to their fame.

"Especially us ladies," Oshodi remarked, "you know that person is your coworker, and you'll be giving her attitude." These are all silly things to me. One of my characteristics is that I approach any good actress and complement her.
