A 53-year-old woman named Chinyere Nwozu has been detained by men from the Ogun State Police Command for kidnapping a baby boy who was just one week old.

The suspect was apprehended on the mentioned date at around 9 am when she was seen with a crying newborn baby but was unable to breastfeed him due to her maternal duties.
Some concerned citizens became suspicious as a result, and they promptly contacted the police at the divisional headquarters in Sango Ota.

After receiving the information, DPO Sango Ota, SP Dahiru Saleh, sent his detectives on the location, where they quickly detained the woman. She admitted to the police during questioning that the infant was not her biological child and that she had instead purchased the child for 500,000 naira from a man named Ngozi Akaeme in the Agege neighborhood of Lagos state.

Upon her confession, detectives went after the said Ngozi Akaeme and got her arrested. She confessed been an accomplice to Chinyere Nwozu, and that she actually negotiated with the biological mother of the baby who according to her agreed to sell the baby.
