Reactions to a video showing the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, being shielded by his palace chiefs as he exits his car have been mixed.
The Ooni (King) is not supposed to bow down to anyone, according to Ife tradition.
As a result, they must hide when the Ooni exits his vehicle since it appears that he is bowing down.
Many people found the custom amusing and unusual, wondering if the King was actually bowing down to the chiefs who frequently cover him.
