This year, a few Nollywood actresses lost their mothers to the cold, merciless hands of death.

They shared the heartbreaking news on their social media accounts while pleading for their mothers' souls to find eternal peace. While we offer these actors our condolences, let's take a look at the list of Nollywood stars who lost their mothers this year. 

EBELE OKARO

Ebelle Okaro, a Nigerian actress, confirmed her mother's passing on her social media profile on August 27, 2022, making her one of the stars who lost their mothers to death's cold grip this year. 

The actress, who just lost her mother, captioned a photo of her mother that she had posted on Instagram with the words, "my beloved mother, mentor, twin sister, and protector is gone, and may her peaceful, beautiful soul rest in perfect peace."

STELLA DAMASUS

Nollywood actress Stella Damasus announced her mother's passing on her Instagram profile on January 24th, 2022. The actress shared the tragic news on her Instagram page, writing, 

She wrote;

"Not farewell, but till we cross paths again. Love you always, mom".

REMI SURUTU

Remi Surutu, a Yoruba film actress, confirmed her mother's passing on May 3rd, 2022 via her Instagram profile. Her movie industry peers who had seen the post on social media responded immediately in the post's comment section to the actress's pain. 

This was shortly after the sad news had been posted on her social media page.

OLATAYO AMOKADE

On August 9, 2022, Olatayo Amokade, a Yoruba movie actor and comedian better known by his stage as Ijebu, posted on his Instagram profile to announce the passing of his 83-year-old mother. 

The distraught actor posted, "RIP Wurami, Yefunbi mi," on her Instagram page to share the tragic news.
